In 1999 we acquired a patch of clear-cut land to start building our dream from scratch
Today Doko farm consist of rolling fields which are surrounded by beautiful hardwoods
filled with blooming dogwoods in spring, stunning fall colors, and neighboring pine
plantations. Two small streams flow through the property, one feeding a picturesque
pond stocked with fish. It truly is tranquil out here!
The barns, with 8 stalls, are attached to our house. This allow us to take care
of the horses 24x7. Several turnout fields are located strategically around the
barn. We offer two riding rings, one large enough for 2 dressage arenas and equipped
with 40 ft of mirrors.
There will always be plenty of work left to be done. In the fall of 2008 we had
our outside fields tilled and replanted. We just finished laying out a 3 acre jumping
area for stadium training and started adding novice cross-country jumps, including
a new ditch and bank. Just some of the items on the to-do list for the year ...
Our primary goal was to create the ideal environment that would allow us to take
care of our equine friends. We believe we have succeeded in that! At Doko, we are
also extremely sensitive to the needs of our boarders. We offer various feed and
blanketing schedules, customized to our boarders and their horses. We recommend
our farrier and vet, but have no problem if you wish to use your own.
